A simple 10 second hack to KNOW THYSELF
Sometimes the question, how are you? is hard to answer.
When you’re feeling 17 things at once, what exactly are you supposed to say?
Or maybe ‘how am I’ is a bit of a painful question to turn toward. It could be easier just to get on with your day and forget how you’re actually feeling.
Like, I could feel my feelings or I could… jump out of bed and get on with my day!
Or thumb Instagram!
Or eat anything tasty! (doesn’t really matter what)
Or go through the dusty box under the desk!
The most important thing for genuine growth, flow in life and functional relationships is to be honest with yourself.
Know thyself. Be real with what’s happening in your world.
So, how to know how you are, really?
There is one moment of the day where you can know your TRUTH, for sure. And with this truth, you can build your authentic life…
it’s In the first 10 seconds of waking up…
This is the golden time. In these few seconds your conscious brain is still connected to your subconscious (this is called the "hypnopompic state"). Your subconscious is where your deeper feelings and emotions lie, your deeper truths beneath the surface. It’s here you can access deeper parts that your conscious mind might hide…
So, the moment you begin to wake, notice how you’re feeling.
What sensations, feelings or thoughts do you wake up with? Relaxed or anxious? Settled or restless? Safe or uncertain? Excited or dreading?
This is your subconscious speaking…
When you attune to what these parts are feeling you can then give them what they need. Perhaps it’s reassurance. Perhaps it’s a breath. Perhaps it’s to be told you’re loved…
You can place a hand on your heart and give yourself that. Show up for yourself the way you need.
So, check it out — how are you today, really?

“I like how the sessions get to the root cause of the problem. I have done years of talk therapy and it wasn’t until I started somatic therapy and addressed the trauma stored in my body that I saw a significant improvement in my life. Caitlyn’s 1:1 sessions are more value for money than other therapy options I have tried.”
