FREE Masterclass: What’s underneath overthinking? How to trust yourself in the unknown

In this Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed masterclass, you’ll get to know the part of you that needs to figure everything out, understand what it might be protecting you from, and learn how to relate to it differently so you can find more clarity, ease and trust in yourself.

FREE · 90 minutes · Online · Replay available

Your mind has been working overtime. And it STILL hasn't figured it out.

Tell me if you recognise this…

You replay a conversation you had with your partner, wondering whether you said the right thing, what they meant by that comment, and whether there's something you need to do to make things right.

You have an important decision to make. So you research, make lists, weigh up the pros and cons, ask your friends, perhaps even ask ChatGPT…

And somehow, you end up with MORE questions than you started with.

You spend hours thinking about something that might happen, preparing for all the possible ways it could go wrong.

Or perhaps you find yourself…

  • Rehearsing difficult conversations before you've even had them

  • Analysing someone's behaviour, trying to work out what they're thinking or feeling

  • Second-guessing a decision you've already made

  • Searching for the right answer because getting it wrong feels unbearable

  • Going around in circles between two options, unable to settle on either

  • Lying awake at night trying to solve something that simply cannot be solved at 2am

And even when you finally reach a conclusion, another question appears.

What if I've missed something? What if it doesn't work out? What if I regret this?

It's exhausting.

Especially when you're a thoughtful, self-aware person who's already spent a LOT of time understanding yourself and trying to make good decisions.

You might even know exactly why you overthink.

But knowing that doesn't necessarily stop your mind from doing it.

What if overthinking isn't the problem?

What if the part of you that analyses everything is actually trying to help?

Maybe it believes that anticipating every outcome will prevent you from being caught off guard. That figuring out what someone else is thinking will protect you from rejection. Or that finding the perfect answer will save you from making a mistake you'll regret.

From an Internal Family Systems (IFS) perspective, the part of you that overthinks may be working VERY hard to protect you.

And it might have been doing this job for a long time.

So when you tell yourself to stop thinking or just relax, that part may have a very good reason not to listen.

What if, instead of trying to stop the thinking, you got to know the part that's doing it?

There's a difference between thinking ABOUT a part and getting to know it

You might have spent years analysing your patterns. You understand your fear of rejection, your need for certainty and why you catastrophise.

But when your partner becomes distant, your boss sends an unexpected message or you face a difficult decision, you're right back inside the thinking.

Trying to work it out. Trying to find an answer. Trying to feel safe.

Internal Family Systems offers another way.

Instead of following every thought down another rabbit hole, you get curious about the part generating them.

What is it afraid would happen if it stopped thinking? What does it need from you?

Something different becomes possible. As you relate to the part in a new way, it naturally relaxes, finds balance and makes more room for YOU to lead.

get these shifts in this 90-min masterclass:

In our work together, you can:

  • Understand your overthinking: Why does a part of you need answers, certainty or control?

  • Step out of the mental loop: Recognise when you're caught up in thinking rather than observing it.

  • Discover what's underneath: What is your overthinking part trying to protect you from?

  • Experience IFS yourself: Get to know your thinking part through a guided practice.

  • Find more trust in the unknown: Learn to relate differently to uncertainty and unanswered questions.

What becomes possible when you don't have to figure EVERYTHING out?

Imagine having a difficult conversation without dissecting every word afterwards.

Making a decision without asking five people for advice.

Enjoying a quiet evening without your mind insisting there's something you haven't considered.

Thinking and planning are wonderful capacities… This work is about having more choice over when you use them.

In this masterclass, you can begin moving from…

  • Replaying conversations and second-guessing yourself

  • Trying to predict other people's reactions

  • Going back and forth between decisions

  • Constantly seeking reassurance

  • Feeling exhausted by your own mind

toward…

  • Recognising when a thinking part has taken over

  • Understanding what it's worried about

  • Making room for your feelings, not just your thoughts

  • Trusting your ability to respond to whatever happens

  • Feeling more present in your relationships and everyday life

WHO THIS IS FOR

This is for you if you…

  • Spend a lot of time analysing your relationships, decisions or conversations, sometimes to the point of exhaustion

  • Find yourself needing reassurance or certainty before you can make a decision

  • Understand your patterns intellectually but still get caught in them when something important is at stake

  • Have done plenty of therapy or personal development, but sometimes feel that all the self-analysis has given you even MORE to think about

  • Want to learn how to relate to your thoughts and feelings differently, rather than constantly trying to control them

  • Are curious about IFS and would like to experience what working with your own parts actually feels like

  • Recognise that, in certain areas of your life, your mind is working much harder than it needs to.

WHO THIS ISN'T FOR

  • You're looking for a quick technique to switch off your thoughts

  • You want someone to tell you which decision to make or what another person is thinking

  • You're not interested in exploring your internal experience or getting curious about the parts of yourself that overthink
