WHOLE SELF 2-hour workshop | MATAKANA :: Somatic healing informed by Internal Family Systems

There are sometimes parts within us that don’t feel good: anxious parts, timid parts, fearful parts, angry parts, parts that want to hide, parts that struggle to state what you want…

And in other corners of ourselves, parts can get upset about those parts. They say things like, ‘why are you so broken? Why can’t you just live life fully? We’re missing out!’

And a battle can ensue. Tension.

Plus all the original pain of whatever you’re dealing with.

There is a way to bring all these parts together into harmony AND find your power — to get your SELF into the CEO seat of your life and get momentum.

To embody this Self means coming home to your wholeness, power and ease.

This is the work of Internal Family Systems (IFS), guided by mindful-somatics.

In this 2-hour essentials workshop, WHOLE SELF invites you to connect with the parts of yourself that hold pain, fear, negative self-talk, or disconnection, and gently integrate them into a harmonious whole. We’ll explore how your body and (sub-conscious) mind work together to create a sense of balance, healing, and inner wholeness.

IN THIS introduction workshop, YOU CAN begin to:

  • Get an embodied introduction to Internal Family Systems and begin to understand how your nervous system shapes emotions, behaviours, and the patterns you find yourself stuck in (often beneath conscious awareness).

  • Start to uncover subconscious patterns and inner beliefs by meeting one or two parts of yourself that are especially active right now and discovering what they’re actually trying to do for you.

  • Explore a different way of relating to yourself, where self-compassion and self-understanding arise naturally, rather than being something forced.

  • Experience moments of connection with your core Self.

  • Learn and practise simple, body-based tools that support emotional balance and help you meet big feelings with more steadiness and resilience.

  • Begin to soften inner conflict, noticing how listening to your parts (instead of fighting them) can create more inner space and cooperation.

  • Touch into greater clarity by sensing what happens when different inner voices are acknowledged, allowing decisions to arise from a more aligned place.

  • Deepen your relationship with your body, learning how sensations carry information, wisdom, and guidance (not just tension or discomfort).

  • Be held in a small, attuned group field.

  • Leave with practical insights and gentle practices you can bring into daily life, supporting integration beyond the workshop itself.

our work together includes:

  • Guided somatic practices

  • IFS-informed parts work

  • Nervous system pyschoeducation and practice

  • Partnered or small group processes (optional)

The added gift of doing your healing/growth work in a group:

Healing doesn’t happen in isolation. But there may very well be parts that try to keep you alone...

There’s immense power in allowing others hold you and join you on your healing/awareness journey. It’s a kind of corrective experience.

And you amplify your transformation by witnessing their journey too — you deeply learn from their experiences while staying rooted in your own process.

Plus, you can meet some rad allies.

Working in a group also makes it more affordable.
